Bored Restlessness

The Beautiful Bride-to-Be

One side of the table

The Other Side

The shower is over and it was great. My photos are terrible quality because I was running around like crazy with food prep, so I didn't get any great shots. Here was the menu:

Roast beef romaine wraps with cream cheese/horseradish sauce
Turkey bacon ranch wraps
potato bites (recipe link in archive under appetizers)
tangy meatballs (recipe to come)
garden herb pasta (recipe to come)
heart pockets (recipe to come)
Spicy Bean salsa (recipe to come)
pink slush punch
watermelon
cheesecakes (recipe in archives under desserts)

Everything was really delicious and looked so pretty. However, today I'm now in a bored and very restless mood. I get this way after something really busy like this shower. I do it after Christmas and birthday parties, etc. My house is spotlessly clean, my laundry done, Rich leaves for Vegas this morning, Sam and his buddy are still sleeping out in the treehouse, the garden is fertilized and watered....as for me, BORED!!! I need something to do at all times or I get this way. Can anyone identify with this?

Aw, I'll get it over it really quickly I'm sure. I will have to come up with a house project to keep me busy all week. That and to finish the three books I have started. Or, maybe a good chick flick. I think I've seen them all, but I could watch some of them over and over. See, when I'm restless like this, nothing sounds good enough to want to do, yet I'm bored. Go figure! :)

I'll be posting all the shower recipes within the next few days. In fact, with this restlessness you may be hearing a LOT from me!!

P.S: Please feel free to post some alternative ideas to cure my current boredom.....

That food looks amazing. That bride to be is one lucky gal to have you as her host!

You've really inspired me and I mean that. I'm hosting a 25th Annivesary party at our cottage next month. I'm so glad I can come here for recipes and ideas. I'm overwhelmed just thinking about all the food and work that goes into it.

Everything looks delicious, can't wait for the recipes!
As far as the boredom..... enjoy it, if you are anything like me, it doesn't happen very often.

WOW! Looks like a great spread girl! I can't wait for some of the recipes to come! :) YUM!

Glad it went well! And I TOTALLY get like you with the restlessness/boredom after an exciting event. I'm actually like that today because we spent Friday and Saturday at the fair...and then all day yesterday at the in-laws. I have PLENTY of housework to do but I just have that blah feeling. Thankfully, I'm almost through the day and hopefully tomorrow I'll be more motivated.

In my restlessness, I started a new book today. Beach House by James Patterson. I should have it finished before I go to bed tonight.

Since, I was actually there, I have to tell you ladies, that Tanya's pictures do not do her efforts justice. Not only did I gain five pounds in the few hours I was there, but Tanya has missed her calling. The food was gourmet style in looks and extremely good. What you can't see in the pictures is the details like her dish collection of the most beautiful and unique serving dishes. Her little but tasteful touches around the house. This is one creative and talented woman! I heard more than one person asking her if she ever thought about catering.

Fabulous effort Tanya - it almost makes me want to get married again, just to experience a Bridal Shower Sunday Baker style!!

However I'll resist that thought - have done it twice already & #2 husband managed to achieve most of his Key Performance Indicators & Competencies in his last Appraisal!!

Hey thanks everyone! Sheri, you are too kind. It's awesome that you always notice the small details....thanks for the praise!

Thanks for coming by everyone :)

Well, shoot, Tanya!

Think it might work if I try to convince my husband to renew our vows, so we can have a wedding shower (we never had one to begin with), and we'll have you cater ours, too??? I know I've said it before, but you're just AMAZING!!

And yes, I always feel this weird, awkward restlessness after a big event like birthdays or Christmas. I'm a "planner" too, when it comes to the big stuff like that, and it's always a let-down when everything's over.

I love your "Perfectly Imperfect Challenge". I have a few areas in my house that I really like just the way they are, too. Maybe I'll take you up on that challenge, and post my own pictures soon.

Hugs,

C.
